Congratulations on the purchase of your Hawaii Energy Efficiency Program approved energy saving solar water heating system. Based on the information you provided your installation contractor, this system has been designed to provide 90% of your hot water needs annually for the next 15 years.
Your solar system has a Hawaii Energy Efficiency Program required time switch, commonly called a timer. The timer is used to automatically control the solar system’s electric back-up and if used properly will maximize your solar system’s output, minimize the inconvenience cause by inclement weather, and provide the energy savings you expect. This is accomplished by setting the factory supplied time “ON” and “OFF” tabs to specific time so the water temperature can be automatically checked.
