Alternate Energy Helps Keep Families Cool at The Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii

AEI recently partnered with The Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii to help them lower their energy bills by installing a set of Mitsubishi solar panels and several A/C units throughout the organization's Judd Hillside House, located in Manoa.

The Ronald McDonald House of Hawaii provides families with seriously ill or injured children a place to stay while their child is receiving medical treatment in Honolulu-area hospitals. The homes provide a comfortable and relaxing environment for families from the Neighbor Islands, Guam, Samoa, Saipan, and the Federated States of Micronesia. Each family's length of stay ranges from several days to several months.

The installation, coordinated by Project Developer Roy Skaggs, included a 26.4kW system with 96 Mitsubishi Electric PV Modules and Enphase Energy Microinverters. The system should save the organization between $800-$900 per month. Ten Mitsubishi Electric A/C units were also installed in bedrooms throughout the home.

AEI is proud to support an organization that does so much for our island community and we were honored to attend the blessing of their new system. We hope this energy efficient project provides them with long-lasting support for their great cause.
