Alternate Energy Inc. (AEI) is now an Authorized Business Partner and Distributor for ChargePoint, the world’s largest and most open electric vehicle (EV) charging network. AEI offers ChargePoint installation for both homes and businesses; the renewable energy company will soon complete installation of nine ChargePoint stations at Kapolei Knolls.
ChargePoint is overwhelmingly preferred by drivers. With more than 23,000 charging spots nationwide (and counting), ChargePoint offers more charging locations than anyone else. All EV car models work on ChargePoint stations. The ChargePoint mobile app makes it easy to find places to charge and lets drivers know which stations are available in real-time.
On the commercial side, AEI reports that business owners are using EV charging to meet sustainability goals, attract and satisfy customers, employees and residents, and earn incremental revenue. “They really appreciate ChargePoint’s intelligent networked software, which allows them to control who charges on their stations and when,” said Mike Ito, director of marketing. “They love that we can set custom pricing for specific drivers and groups and generate usage reports and gas savings data. ChargePoint just gives a lot of advantages.”
Ito added that all ChargePoint stations are privately owned. When businesses buy ChargePoint stations and become part of its network, they are immediately visible to all ChargePoint drivers. And because they have the largest community of EV drivers, owners are finding that ChargePoint can be an effective way to promote their business and products.
On the residential side, AEI offers ChargePoint Home, the world’s most advanced EV charging station for the home. “ChargePoint Home delivers the same seamless charging experience ChargePoint users have come to count on at work and around town – and now it’s conveniently available in a driver’s own garage through our partnership with AEI,” said ChargePoint CEO Pasquale Romano.
With an ultra-sleek, durable design, ChargePoint Home is available as a 32 amp station that can deliver a maximum of 25 miles of Range Per Hour (RPH), or a 16 amp station with a maximum of 12 RPH. Cords are available in 12, 18, and 25 feet. The station can be installed either indoors or outdoors, is available in a plug or hardwired version, and has a universal J1772™ connector that is compatible with all EVs on the road today.
ChargePoint Home is integrated with a driver’s ChargePoint account so they can see residential, public and workplace charging via their mobile app. Drivers can also view their energy usage and how many miles they’ve added during a charging session depending on their car.
